biography

Jessie is a graduate of Southwestern Law School, where she was a Wildman/Schumacher Scholar and concentrated her studies on entertainment law through Southwestern’s Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute. Prior to law school, Jessie attended Berklee College of Music on a vocal performance scholarship and worked in marketing and lifestyle branding at Universal Music Group Distribution. After relocating to Los Angeles, Jessie spent several years working in music publishing at Universal Music Publishing Group, Bug Music, and BMG Rights Management.

At LaPolt Law, Jessie drafts and negotiates various music business-related agreements including agreements related to publishing, recording and distribution, producer and side artist agreements, management agreements, personal appearance agreements, performance and tour-related agreements, and licensing agreements. Jessie also handles matters relating to new media, film, and television including composer agreements and various film score-related agreements, soundtrack agreements, talent agreements for film, television and commercial performances, executive producer agreements, development agreements, film and television production and distribution agreements, video game agreements, animation agreements, avatar development and distribution agreements, merchandising agreements, sponsorship agreements, social media-related agreements and licenses, employment agreements, and agreements related to e-sports.  In addition to drafting and negotiating the aforementioned contracts, Jessie assists clients with brand management, development and protection. Jessie is also actively involved in organizing efforts to advocate for the rights of creators and women’s rights in the music industry.
