Biography
Sabrina graduated Cum Laude from UCLA in a mere three years before moving on to law school. Upon graduation from UCLA School of Law, Sabrina immediately threw herself into the entertainment industry, becoming a production coordinator for a music DVD series. Prior to joining LaPolt Law, P.C., Sabrina practiced for several years at a boutique firm in Santa Monica specializing in transactional and litigation matters related to music, television and general entertainment industry issues.
Sabrina negotiates and drafts various agreements relating to all areas in music, merchandising and fashion, book publishing, motion picture and television, including but not limited to recording agreements with both major and independent labels, production agreements and other joint venture related agreements, music publishing agreements, composer agreements, endorsement and sponsorships agreements, management agreements, film production agreements, writer-option agreements, various talent agreements for film, television and commercial performances, employment agreements, operating agreements and various other corporate organizational documents such as corporate resolutions and amendments. Other areas of expertise include due diligence in connection with copyright and trademark acquisitions in addition to supporting outside litigation counsel in such areas as copyright and trademark infringement, violations of the California Talent Agencies Act, and misappropriation of name and likeness.
Sabrina has lectured at various entertainment industry conferences and seminars, including at the National Association of Record Industry Professionals (NARIP), Musician’s Institute, and annually at the Cutting Edge Music Business Conference. Additionally, Sabrina assists Dina LaPolt as a co-instructor for the "Legal and Practical Aspects of the Music Business" class at UCLA Extension, focusing her lectures on everything from trademark issues in relation to the music business to the California Talent Agencies Act.
When not at the office, Sabrina can be found indulging in one of her varied interests, such as horseback riding, photography and baking.
